How is the school organised?
At Cliff Park Infant school we have nine classes which allows us to have three classes each in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
Teachers and teaching assistants work closely together to plan and provide opportunities for learning within their year groups and across the school.
Our classes are:
|Reception||Year One||Year Two|
Please take a look at the 'Our Curriculum' page here, plus individual year group pages to find out more about the classes and curriculum.
Cliff Park Infant School has adopted the National Curriculum as the foundation for planning learning opportunities and experiences for our children in Year 1 and Year 2.
We believe that children learn best when they can build on new skills through different learning contexts that inspire them. We plan our learning through a creative curriculum approach where children can make links in their learning and apply literacy and numeracy to all areas of life. We use themes and topics to motivate and challenge our children to learn.
Work in the Early Years is planned using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Marking and Feedback
Marking and feedback at Cliff Park Infant relates to the aims and values of the school as a whole, and seeks to acknowledge the children's achievements, at the same time as helping them to understand any challenges or problems they may be having. We support all children equally, regardless of aptitude; fair, positive, and clear feedback and marking helps us to achieve this. We aim to inform parents of these principles, including our individual work marking structure:
V - Verbal feedback given work
Pink highlighting - means THINK - pink is the part of the work that needs improvement.
Green highlighting - means GREAT - green is the part of the work that's something to be proud of.
Initials where work is marked by staff member other than class teacher.
